Our client is seeking an experienced Electrical Technical Specialist to join their team at the Alcoa, Tennessee location. This role is integral to the success of their manufacturing operations, focusing on the design of manufacturing processes, continuous improvement initiatives, and providing hands-on technical guidance.

Location: Alcoa, TN, 37701

Compensation: Our client offers a competitive compensation package ranging from $75,000 to $85,000, commensurate with your experience, education, certifications, and skill set. This reflects a strong commitment to attracting top-tier talent for this pivotal role.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop manufacturing processes and procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize manufacturing methods.
  • Collaborate closely with craft employees to provide technical support and guidance.
  • Serve as a resource for manufacturing personnel to resolve technical issues.
  • Assist in the justification and implementation of new equipment.
  • Work across various manufacturing departments to address and resolve technical challenges.
  • Ensure adherence to the company’s Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S), quality, and continuous improvement policies.
  • Provide direct support to the Maintenance Organization, responding to trouble calls on a 24/7 basis.
  • This role will require frequent shift and weekend line/maintenance support.

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with electrical systems and controls in industrial applications.
  • Hands-on experience in installing, programming, and troubleshooting AC drives, DC drives, and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline.
  • 5 years of experience with a solid understanding of manufacturing processes and principles.
  • 5 years of experience in product and process failure analysis, with familiarity in lean manufacturing, FMEA, RCM SPC, TQM, and other world-class manufacturing techniques.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving and creative thinking skills.
  • A robust maintenance background.
  • Familiarity with instrumentation, including HART communications.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with gas-fired combustion systems is desired.

Common Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in PLC programming and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of AC and DC drive systems.
  • Experience with electrical troubleshooting and diagnostics.
  • Familiarity with instrumentation and control systems.
  • Understanding of safety standards and practices in industrial environments.

Desired Certifications:
  • Certified Maintenance and Reliability Technician (CMRT).
  • Certified Automation Professional (CAP).
  • National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET) Certification.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt Certification.
  • Electrical Safety Compliance (such as NFPA 70E).
