Position Overview:
The Vascular Sonographer will perform daily clinical operations and a wide variety of technical procedures, including, but not limited to, peripheral vascular, venous reflux, and carotid ultrasound. The role includes entering exam data into the CPACs system, ensuring completeness of each exam, and preparing exams for interpretation. Adherence to National Patient Safety Goals is essential based on the level of patient contact this position requires.

Compensation:
Our client offers a competitive compensation package ranging from $63,000 to $84,000, commensurate with your experience, education, certifications, and skill set. This reflects a strong commitment to attracting top-tier talent for this pivotal role.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform peripheral vascular, venous reflux, and carotid imaging in accordance with lab protocols and standard practices.
  • Assist the Physician during vein center procedures.
  • Review inpatient requisitions and prioritize the patient list based on severity of illness, special procedures, special requests, and equipment availability; revise patient schedules as needed.
  • Conduct required quality control checks.
  • Manage the procurement, storage, and routing of supplies for room operation.
  • Ensure reusable instruments are maintained and disinfected as required.
  • Review patient information and orders at the time of the procedure; confirm exam type and appropriate diagnosis; seek clarification if necessary; determine interpreting physician.
  • Download examination images and data into the PACs system; enter findings upon completion of exams.
  • Mentor and evaluate ultrasound students as required.
  • Communicate technical and patient care-related information according to established processes and timelines.
Qualifications:
  • Current certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) or certification within one year of hire date.
  • Successful completion of a CAAHEP-approved school of ultrasound or cardiovascular technology or equivalent experience.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification obtained through the American Heart Association (AHA) is required upon hire.
  • High school graduate or GED equivalency is required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional cardiovascular sonography work experience.
Nice-To-Haves:
  • 5+ years of professional cardiovascular sonography work experience.
Technical Skills:
  • Proficient in vascular ultrasound techniques.
  • Familiarity with CPACs and PACs systems for data entry and image management.
  • Knowledge of quality control processes in a clinical setting.
  • Experience in patient care protocols and safety measures.
  • Strong communication skills for patient interaction and teamwork.
