Position Overview:
We are seeking a Radiation Therapist for our client, located in Las Cruces, NM, 88012.


Compensation:
Our client offers a competitive compensation package ranging from $70,000 - $93,000, commensurate with your experience, education, certifications, and skill set. This reflects a strong commitment to attracting top-tier talent for this pivotal role.
 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Patient Assessment: Conduct thorough assessments of patients' medical histories and treatment plans to determine appropriate radiation therapy procedures.
  • Treatment Planning: Collaborate with oncologists and medical physicists to develop individualized radiation treatment plans based on patient diagnoses and specific needs.
  • Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain radiation therapy equipment, including linear accelerators and imaging devices, ensuring proper functioning and safety protocols are followed.
  • Patient Positioning: Accurately position patients for treatment sessions, utilizing immobilization devices and ensuring precise alignment for effective radiation delivery.
  • Monitoring Treatment: Continuously monitor patients during treatment to assess their reactions and provide support, addressing any concerns or complications.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient treatments, including doses administered, equipment settings, and any changes in patient status.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety standards and protocols for radiation exposure, ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines to protect patients and staff.
  • Patient Education: Educate patients and their families about the treatment process, potential side effects, and post-treatment care, fostering a supportive environment.
  • Quality Assurance: Participate in quality assurance programs to evaluate treatment effectiveness and improve procedures and patient outcomes.
  • Emotional Support: Provide emotional support and encouragement to patients throughout their treatment journey, addressing their concerns and needs compassionately.


Qualifications:
  • Graduate of an accredited Radiation Therapy program.
  • Certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) required; must hold a license in New Mexico or be eligible for licensure. CPR certification is also required.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with operational methods and safety standards for all ionizing radiation equipment used in the department.
  • Ability to safely handle radiation sources.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Capable of working both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
