Position Overview:
Our client is seeking a Civil-Site Development Engineer to support the complete design of civil engineering projects ranging from small to large in scope. Working under general supervision, this position in Mobile, AL offers a full-time, long-term opportunity with competitive pay, comprehensive benefits, and potential for professional growth.

Relocation support may be available for qualified candidates.

Compensation:
Our client offers a competitive compensation package ranging from $120,000 to $190,000, commensurate with your experience, education, certifications, and skill set. This reflects a strong commitment to attracting top-tier talent for this pivotal role.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Adhere to department design and drafting standards.
  • Review project scope, specifications, and design criteria at project onset.
  • Perform medium-complexity design calculations and assignments.
  • Develop reports for clients and regulatory agencies.
  • Assist in design tasks for more complex assignments.
  • Check calculations by other engineers for accuracy and code compliance.
  • Create conceptual layouts and conduct cost studies.
  • Draft plans and details for engineering drawings.
  • Conduct fieldwork for data collection, tie-in verification, and construction support.
  • Develop detailed construction specifications outlining scope, instructions, and quality standards.
  • Conduct land development and zoning code research for civil-site projects.
  • Collaborate with lead engineers to assess project scope changes.
  • Review and check submittal drawings and documentation.
  • Lead small teams, managing scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Assist in estimating service hours, scheduling, and assessing civil/structural project progress.

Required Credentials and Work Location:
  • Education: Master’s in Civil Engineering (preferred).
  • Experience: Minimum 4 years in civil-site engineering (industrial), with 1 year in MS Office, AutoCAD, and stormwater analysis software.
  • Licensure: Professional Engineer (PE) required.
  • Location: Must be willing to commute to Mobile, AL, or relocate before starting work.

Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Registration: Professional Engineer (PE) licensure required. EIT registration may be considered if licensure can be achieved within six months.
  • Experience: 4–6 years of relevant civil-site engineering experience in an industrial, commercial, government, or infrastructure setting.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of industry standards (e.g., ASCE, ACI, AASHTO, AREMA, NRCS, NFPA).
  • Proficiency with civil stormwater analysis software (e.g., SSA, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, ICPR).
  • Strong listening skills to understand team and client needs.
  • Effective teamwork skills for both small and large project management.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD; experience with Civil3D is a plus.
  • Competency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
