NASC GLOBAL, a leading HR Consulting and Management firm, is excited to support the search for an experienced Electrician for our valued client in Mount Vernon, IL. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated professional to make a significant impact in the coal mining industry.


Position Overview:
As an Electrician, you will be responsible for repairing, replacing, and troubleshooting electrical systems on coal mining equipment, ensuring safe and efficient operations.



Compensation:
Our client offers a competitive compensation package ranging from $52,000 to $58,240, commensurate with your experience and qualifications.



Key Responsibilities:
  • Repair, replace, and troubleshoot electrical systems on coal mining equipment (approximately 80% of your time).
  • Analyze circuits, wiring diagrams, and blueprints to calibrate, service, repair, or install electronic devices and build control panels.
  • Run tests, isolate problems, and replace faulty sections of wiring.
  • Adhere to MSHA-specified guidelines to ensure personal and team safety.
  • Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and other technical documents.
  • Perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy objects, climbing ladders, and crawling in confined spaces.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills.
  • Ability to identify wires by color.
  • Capability to work in various positions, including small spaces.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Prior experience working with high voltage systems (400-600 amps).

Desired Skills:
  • Proficiency in using hand tools, including volt meters and wire strippers.
  • Strong understanding of safety protocols and ability to operate in a shop environment.
