Key Responsibilities:
- Design and Documentation: Develop and produce roadway design and traffic control plans utilizing CADD software (MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer) and other design tools.
- Modeling and Calculations: Perform roadway design calculations, create pavement designs, develop typical sections, 3D modeling, and calculate quantities for construction cost estimates.
- Field Work: Conduct field visits to measure and document existing roadway conditions, including taking photos for project documentation.
- Traffic Control Plans: Prepare traffic control plans and lane closure calculations for construction and maintenance projects.
- Collaboration: Work closely with senior engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure design solutions meet project goals and client needs.
- Reporting: Prepare and assist in the preparation of reports, documentation, and project deliverables.
- Quality Control: Ensure designs adhere to local, state, and federal guidelines, including FDOT specifications and standards.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience in roadway design, including experience with CADD software (MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer), 3D modeling, and roadway calculations.
- Certifications: Engineer Intern (E.I.) or Professional Engineer (P.E.) Certification.
- Software Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, and 3D modeling software.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Licenses/Certificates: Valid Florida Driver’s License.
- Basic Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
